π Whatβs going on in the startup ecosystem? Letβs talk about it (while playing Top Golf)
Join 100 of Nashville's hardest-working business leaders for an afternoon of unfiltered insights, networking, and golf. This exclusive event brings together proven entrepreneurial experts and local business owners for clear-cut solutions and real-world strategies. Join us, and set your business up for success in 2025 and beyond. There is limited space.
If you come, Iβll see you there. I get to participate on a panel with two folks who I really admire who both sit at the cross-roads of community and entrepreneurship in Nashville: Sam Davidson (CEO, ec.co) and Sherry Stuart Deutschmann, (CEO of BrainTrust).
Jobs:
A startup is hiring a full stack developer (reach out to me for details)
Goodship is hiring an Enterprise Sales Director with a large shipper network/experience in supply chain/logistics.
π Have you met these members yet?
Just got off a call with the wonderful Nick Jones, owner of NS804. North South 804 Apps is a development studio of Mobile Apps headquartered Richmond, VA. Nick mentioned on our call that he spends a lot of time consulting about how to hire offshore teams and set your project up for success.
Last week, I had a call with
from Nashville Lionβs Cage. I loved learning about this concept. Itβs almost a Top Golf for baseball, but bottom line from the founder (Iβm paraphrasing) βThereβs nowhere in the city where you can swing a bat.β Nashville Lionβs Cage hopes to change that with their innovative digital indoor batting cage concept.Had a call earlier this week with Corbitt Chandler, owner of Apex Current. They are data-driven digital ad experts working collaboratively with clients to create ad campaigns that deliver measurable results. Their clients range from healthcare to SaaS. Corbitt is in the group to learn more about the needs of entrepreneurs and offer expertise.
Marketing a product? Try connecting with Nashvilleβs ecosystem
Nashvilleβs startup ecosystem is growing very quickly. There are tons of resources you could access to meet new people, get stuff done, find talent and learn about fundraising. Some of those resources include folks like BuildinSE. They wrote a really amazing article back in 2020 about resources you should look for in Nashville.
I just had a meeting about startup networking support from Felicia Garry at TriNet. This is a special new opportunity to chat with fellow founders, owners and venture partners about Nashvilleβs community. I learned a ton from our first meeting. Thereβs a goal here of finding ways startups can support each other. I love the initiative and am excited for more.
One way to stand out in this community is to network online. StartupNash is a well-kept secret, but it shouldnβt be! Weβve spent five years so far in a close-knit community of founders and funders. Join as another way to learn about Nashville, but also to ask questions and get important things done.
Paid members in StartupNash are beta testing Britepeer. Itβs a tool we made to connect members by skill. The feedback so far has been a lot about how businesses and experts might use Britepeer to cut back on their time spent in communities.
Community Asks:
π A member wants to hear from people who have started or led founder retreats
π A member is looking for founders with great knowledge of raising funding from venture capitalists or angel investors, as well as funders who are interested in investing startup companies.
π Have an ask or an offer? Join StartupNash. We are a group of founders and funders in Nashville. Our community focuses on using peer mentorship and the power of our collective network to help each other grow our businesses.
Those are this weekβs highlights! See you on the brite side :)
